About the Role

The individual would be carrying out Electrical work broadly within Scottish Power Sub-Stations including tasks such as:
• Testing and Inspection of Electrical installations.
• Electrical Fault Finding and compiling solutions in accordance with current IEE Regulations.
• Working within Scottish Power Sub Stations up to 400Kv level.
• Installation of Emergency Lighting systems.
• Installation of steel Trunking, Conduit and other Containment systems.
• Wiring of Heating, Lighting, Small Power and Essential Circuits in accordance with latest IEE Regulations.
• Install, Maintain and Repair Electrical Distribution systems and associated equipment within Sub-Stations.
• Notifying Supervisor of any urgent upgrade works required.
• Complete Daily Risk Assessments and Hazard/Well Spotted sheets.
• Completion of relevant Test Certificates and RAMS within site specific Job Packs.
• Undertake further training to obtain required Scottish Power Authorisations.
• Liaising with Line Managers and Clients to complete projects in a timely fashion, and to the highest possible standard.
• Endeavour to keep any disruption to operational Sub-Stations and sites to a minimum and reinstate any isolated Supply as soon as is reasonably possible.
• Ensuring PPE is worn and utilised as and when required.
• Always working within your relevant Authorisations.
• Keeping Company vehicles as clean and tidy as possible at all times.
• Report any possible defects to the vehicle at the earliest possible opportunity.
• Keeping all Plant and Equipment in good working order including storage.
• Submit Plant, Access equipment and Test instruments at the recommended intervals for inspection.
• Ensure all Test instruments and Plant are within calibration date.
• Ensure that timesheets are completed on time and accurately reflect job numbers and hours worked.
• Ensure safety of the client personnel, other workers on site and members of the Public.

Requirements

  • WI-1.

  • OP-3.

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

  • Training will be provided if further Authorisations are required.
